It’s Sunday morning and you might not have fully recovered from all the holiday excitement. You probably don’t have to leave the house yet, so what can be nicer than curling up at home in a warm cocoon. The music form these next five artists perfectly fit this mood.

5. Easy – Commodores

I get the ultimate lazy Sunday morning feels every time I hear this golden oldie, which is why it simply has to make this list. But here’s a twist! The lyrics of the song couldn’t be further from having a lazy day.

Know it sounds funny but I just can’t stand the pain
Girl, I’m leaving you tomorrow
Seems to me girl, you know I’ve done all I can
You see, I beg, stole and I borrowed, yeah, ooh

That’s why I’m easy
I’m easy like Sunday morning
Easy – Commodores

This isn’t about having an easy Sunday morning at all. It’s about feeling that way after ending a painful relationship!

4. Sunday Morning – Maroon 5

The sound of Sunday Morning by Maroon 5 also really fits Sunday mornings, but in terms of lyrics, this one is more of a sweet love song.

That may be all I need
In darkness she is all I see
Come and rest your bones with me
Driving slow on Sunday morning
And I never want to leave
Sunday Morning – Maroon 5

I don’t think that this necessarily has much to do with Sunday mornings, but perhaps I’m not seeing something? Do you see the missing link? Let us know in the comments below!

3. Banana Pancakes – Jack Johnson

Generally speaking, you’d better not wake me up on a Sunday morning, but I’ll make an exception if there are banana pancakes.

Can’t you see that it’s just raining?
Ain’t no need to go outside
But, baby, you hardly even notice
When I try to show you this
Song is meant to keep you
From doing what you’re supposed to
Waking up too early
Maybe we can sleep in
Make you banana pancakes
Pretend like it’s the weekend now
Banana Pancakes – Jack Johnson

If you’re asking me, this music sounds just as good as what Jack is singing about.

2. Love On The Weekend – John Mayer

John Mayer has a slightly more active weekend than Jack Johnson by going on a romantic road trip with his SO.

You be the DJ, I’ll be the driver
You put your feet up in the getaway car
I’m flying fast like a, a wanted man
I want you, baby, like you can’t understand

Love on the weekend, love on the weekend
We found a message in a bottle we were drinking
Love on the weekend, love on the weekend
I hate your guts ‘cause I’m loving every minute of it
Love On The Weekend – John Mayer

Shouldn’t a weekend like that just go on forever?

1. The Lazy Song – Bruno Mars

This one’s nice and straight forward, a song that everyone probably relates to or wants to recognize themselves in.

Today I don’t feel like doing anything
I just wanna lay in my bed
Don’t feel like picking up my phone
So leave a message at the tone
‘Cause today I swear I’m not doing anything
The Lazy Song – Bruno Mars

You can’t argue with that!

Happy Sunday!

Enjoy this lovely Sunday, it will still take a LONG time before it’s Monday when you’ll have to work or study again.
