Aanstaande donderdag is het weer zover; de dag der liefde! Of je nou in een happy relatie zit of single bent, je komt niet om Valentijnsdag heen.

Eerder schreven we al over 5 liedjes die je oplappen na een Valentijns blauwtje en vorig jaar maakten we er een anti-Valentijnsdag van door een lijstje van liedjes over zelfliefde samen te stellen, maar deze keer gaan we op de romantische toer. En hoe!

We beginnen met een classic: When You Say Nothing At All van Ronan Keating. Ronan zit zó op één lijn met zijn vriendin dat ze niet aan een half woord genoeg hebben.. ze hebben helemaal géén woorden nodig!

4. Hero – Enrique Iglesias

Oeh.. het was moeilijk kiezen welke lovesong uit Enrique Iglesias’ repertoire het meest slijmerig was! Maar het liedje dat met kop en schouders boven de rest uitsteekt, is toch Hero. Geloof het of niet, de Latin lover moet in dit liedje zijn love interest nog overtuigen dat hij dé man voor haar is:

Bruno Mars is al een stap verder; hij heeft in Just The Way You Are zijn sweetheart al helemaal overtuigd, en nu kan hij niet van haar afblijven:

En alsof dit nog niet slijmerig genoeg is, zingt Bruno in het refrein dat niemand zó perfect is als zij:

2. I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing – Aerosmith

Zelfs de stoere rockers van Aerosmith zijn niet bestand tegen een beetje hartstocht. Luister maar eens goed naar I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing:

1. All Of Me – John Legend

Dé ode aan de liefde is natuurlijk de monsterhit All Of Me van John Legend. Hierin zingt de romanticus dat hij niet alleen zielsveel van zijn soulmate houdt, hij zal er ook altijd voor haar zijn:

Even when you’re crying, you’re beautiful too?

Je zou wel kunnen concluderen dat John een beetje verblind is door de liefde, want ken je ook maar één iemand die mooi is als hij of zij huilt?

En het refrein beschrijft niets minder dan onvoorwaardelijke liefde..

John schreef dit liedje voor zijn geliefde Chrissy Teigen; ze zijn inmiddels vijf jaar getrouwd en hebben twee kindjes samen! Op Instagram druipt het geluk van dit happy couple af; zou hij deze ode aan de liefde regelmatig thuis voor haar zingen? 😉

Love overdose

Hopelijk heb je nog geen love overdose gehad van de lyrics van deze vijf super slijmerige love songs? Ze zijn door hun overdrevenheid misschien een tikkeltje fout, maar op Valentijnsdag komen we daar wel mee weg, toch?
